Most of my consulting work relates to placemaking, visitor attraction, and long-distance trails. But this project brought some much-needed attention to local parks and recreation. I was part of a team helping the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) to “make the case” for local parks and recreation. I loved being a part of this project and considering how parks and rec are essential to local residents (as well as our visitors). The effort resulted in the statewide “good for you. good for all” marketing campaign conceived by lead contractor SWELL, LLC. My role in the project was researching and articulating the many benefits of parks and rec, the history, and why they are indeed vital services that touch the lives of nearly every resident. What a great project! Now go enjoy your local park and playground :).
