In November, I spent 12 days in Indiana at the request of The Greenways Foundation. I toured the state hosting trail town workshops to introduce the concept to community champions in various places. Workshops were held in Portage, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Terre Haute, Carmel, and Evansville.

I met so many people who care deeply about their communities and see better connecting to their trails as an obvious win. More than 200 people came out for the workshops and to share their ideas for trails in their communities.

Bonus for me! I got to get to know the state of Indiana. A few highlights: a group bike ride in Fort Wayne that included seeing fantastic public art and the chance to have “coffee with a cop” (three, actually), touring the University of Notre Dame campus, seeing the Hoosiers gym, and spending time along the Ohio River in Evansville.
